We look forward to watching her apply her exceptional talent locally with the Cougars in 2017! She will be an inspiration to our young players working to become the next great College of Charleston goalkeeper!"
"Maggie's a local product and a very good goalkeeper who we're excited to have joining us," head coach
Christian Michner said. "She's super athletic, and I think she has the ability to come in and challenge for a starting spot. She's been a standout keeper at Porter Gaud, and we look forward to that continuing this Fall."
MADDIE CYBULSKI
Forward - 5'4"
Vienna, Va. - James Madison
Maddie Cybulski comes to the College from James Madison High School in Vienna, Va., where she spent four years playing for the Warhawks. During that time, she earned three consecutive All-District nods, and was an All-Region honorable mention. Cybulski also played 10 years of club soccer, seven of which were for VYS Thunder Black, where she found a great deal of success. With her in tow, the club was a 2014 Bethesda Premier Cup Champion, a 2015 Bethesda Premier Cup Champion, and a 2015 OGBC Cup Champion. A multi-sport athlete, she also played four years of field hockey.
"I have been very fortunate to coach Maddie for several years," said Nadir Moumen, her club coach. "It has been great to not only see her develop into a fantastic soccer player, but it has been great to see her develop as a fantastic person. I look forward to seeing that continued development as collegiate student-athlete."
"Maddie's a really strong forward who's powerful and athletic," Michner said. "She works really hard both on and off the field, and we know she'll represent this program really well. I think she's going to score a lot of goals."
LEAH DEUTSCH
Defender/Midfielder - 5'5"
Ashburn, Va. – Broad Run
Deutsch comes to the College from Broad Run High School, and will join her sister Sara who is already a member of the team. In four years with the Spartans, the younger Deutsch helped her team to a 2015 State Championship, a 5A Conference Championship in 2015-16, and a First Team All-Conference nod in 2016. Deutsch also spent 15 years with her club program Loudoun, helping the team to a No. 1 National ranking in 2014-15 thanks to a State Championship. Also great in the classroom, Deutsch earned a 4.0 Academic Letter in 2016.
"I was very excited that Leah committed to play for the College of Charleston and will be joining her sister, Sara, who I also coached at Loudoun," said her club coach Randy May. "I have seen her grow and mature both as a player and as a person these past five years. She brings a high level of technical skills and abilities to the game. She also reads and understands the game extremely well which has enabled us to utilize her skills going forward in the attacking third. She plays off her teammates well and can create opportunities playing balls into the final third or going to goal. I know that her game will only improve and grow at the college level. She is well grounded coming from a great soccer family who have positively supported and guided her along the way. Looking forward to following her career at the College of Charleston."
"Leah and Sara have different playing styles," Michner said. "Leah has a lot of ability to play out wide, whether it's in the back or in the midfield. She's a very technical, super athletic player, and she's another great kid from a great family who we're excited to have."

"Meredith is a very talented and athletic goalkeeper," said her club coach Tomasz Kluszczynski. "Her work ethic made her one of the best shot stoppers that I've coached over the past few years. Her technique and distribution is sublime. She's a great addition to the College of Charleston program, and under the direction of their coaching staff, she will take her game to another level. I wish her all the best and looking forward to see her represent our badge at the collegiate level."
"Meredith is very good, which is interesting because she's only been playing the position for a relatively short time," Michner said. "We're excited about her development, she has great distribution of the ball, has good size, and I know her best days are still ahead of her."

In our discussions, we have talked about what it means to focus on who we are as a person and who we are as an athlete. Her optimism and positive mindset will carry her through to the next level of the game both in soccer and in life. It has been my honor to be her coach."
"Haley plays on a great team down in Boca Raton that was a national contender in that age group," Michner said. "She's an attacking center midfielder who brings a lot of flair to that position. She works hard, and she's just an amazing girl who we're excited to have come join the program."
