MT. PLEASANT, S.C. --- The College of Charleston baseball team will host Georgia Southern in the second game of their home-and-home season series on Tuesday evening at Patriots Point. First pitch is slated for 6:03 pm, with Cougar freshman Griffin McLarty (Buckner, Ky.) starting opposite Eagle redshirt junior Adam Kelly.

The Cougars picked up wins on Saturday and Sunday to rally for a series victory against Hofstra to open their CAA schedule. Weekend starters Nathan Ocker, Jakob Frishmuth, and Tucker White combined for 15 and two-thirds innings, and allowed two runs on 15 hits and struck out 15. Bradley Dixon, Erven Roper, and Tommy Richter each picked up four hits, as Roper mashed his third homer of the season in Saturday's 12-1 win.

The Cougar pitching staff bounced back with a strong weekend against Hofstra, surrendering four runs and striking out 28 batters in a 2-1 series victory. Freshman Jakob Frishmuth delivered perhaps his best performance of the season on Saturday, tossing six and two-thirds shutout innings to earn his first collegiate win. Nathan Ocker struck out a career-high nine batters in a six-inning effort on Friday, while Griffin McLarty tallied seven K's in two and one-third on Saturday.
Scouting Georgia Southern
The Eagles enter the week with a 14-10 overall record after rallying to take the series over UT Arlington this past weekend. Georgia Southern has emerged with a series win in four of its last five sets, including a midweek sweep of The Citadel on March 21 and 22.
Ryan Cleveland leads the Eagle attack with five home runs, 10 doubles, 26 RBIs and a .313 batting average; Steven Curry owns a team-high .347 batting average. Tuesday's starter, Adam Kelly, carries a 1.35 ERA with eight strikeouts in 10 appearances, including one start.
