Dollar Earns CAA Preseason Honor, CofC Picked First

RICHMOND, VA. – College of Charleston was picked first in the Annual Coaches' Poll while redshirt sophomore Deanna Dollar earned Preseason All-CAA Honorable Mention as announced by the league on Tuesday.
Dollar, a 2024 CAA All-Tournament Team recipient, appeared in 22 sets for the Cougars totaling 34 kills and 10 blocks. During the CAA Tournament, Dollar collected 17 kills, nine digs and eight blocks across the two matches, helping Charleston win its second CAA title. Against Hofstra in the semifinals, the Burbank, Calif., native hit .353 with eight kills, five digs and three blocks.
The reigning CAA Regular Season and Tournament Champion Cougars went 25-9 and 15-3 in the league last season, earning their tenth NCAA Tournament berth. CofC finished the season with a 17-1 home record, trailing only Nebraska for the best home record in the country. The Cougars also broke the program record in blocks, totaling 348.0 as a unit.
Charleston, the 2025 preseason favorite, tallied 92 points and five first-place votes. Hofstra earned 90 points and four first-place votes while Towson garnered 88 points and one first-place vote. North Carolina A&T (68), who was picked fourth, grabbed the final first-place vote.
The Cougars open the 2025 campaign Aug. 29 when it faces Eastern Kentucky in the CofC Classic at 7 p.m.
