Four Bobcats had double-digit kills, including a match-high 16 by Melissa Griffin, to lead the #13th-ranked Ohio volleyball team to the 3-0 win over the College of Charleston (30-23, 30-25, 36-34) in the Notre Dame Shamrock Invitational at the Joyce Center on Saturday.
With the win Ohio improves to 5-2, while Charleston falls to 3-3.
Following Griffin's 16 kills was Stephanie Blackburn with 13 and Ellen Herman with 12. Jane Sytsma also had double-figures in kills with her 11 on the afternoon.
Freshman Whitney Russell led the Cougars with 12 kills, while Emily Sawin added nine. Megan Parkerson had nine digs, with Cole Dawley following closely with eight on the match.
Charleston takes on Alabama in its final match of the tournament Sunday at 1:00 p.m.
