CHARLESTON, S.C. – College of Charleston handed out diplomas to 73 student-athletes at its Spring 2021 commencement ceremonies held this week at the Cistern and Patriots Point.
A total of 63 student-athletes earned degrees this spring while another ten will complete their studies in the summer. Six are members of the CofC Honors College, including Lauren Duffy and Allyson Pace (equestrian), Chloe Currie (women's golf), Harrison Koller (sailing), Kylie Burke (softball) and Logan Manusky (volleyball).
Twenty-five are graduating with honors with Currie and Olivia Hamilton (women's golf), Eva Nyikos (women's tennis) and Marian Williams (sailing) achieving summa cum laude status.
While most of the graduates received bachelor's degrees, eight earned advanced degrees. Two members of the baseball team – Steven Cook and Luke Stageberg – and volleyball student-athlete Hazel Brown were awarded MBAs, and Jordan Carr (baseball), Hunter Dunagan (men's golf) and Victoria Huskey (women's golf) earned master's degrees in communication. Cole Gulledge (men's soccer) earned a master's in data science and analytics, while Patience Hunt (women's cross country/track and field) earned a master's in accountancy.
Graduates hailed from 19 states, including Arizona, California, Colorado, Connecticut, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, South Carolina, Texas, Virginia as well as Washington, D.C.
Sixteen are from outside the United States, with representation from Australia, Austria, Bermuda, Canada, China, England, Germany, Greece, Nigeria, Poland, Senegal, Spain and Trinidad.

"One of the absolute best times of the year is commencement," said Tiller, assistant athletics director for student-athlete academic services and senior women's administrator. "My staff and I are so proud of these seniors, and all of our student-athletes, for how they have adapted to our changing world the past year.
"As in any year, I am grateful for our student-athletes' families, faculty and athletics and campus staff as well as our coaches for fostering growth in our student-athletes and helping them achieve the milestone of earning a college degree."
