Wolfpack Too Much as Cougars Fall 91-47
11/19/2016 8:26:00 PM | Women's Basketball
CHARLESTON, S.C. – Huge runs in the second and third quarters proved to be the College of Charleston women's basketball team's undoing Saturday night, as the Cougars dropped to 1-2 on the season with a 91-47 loss to the N.C. State Wolfpack (3-0).
• The game started with a brief feeling-out process, as the Cougars trailed 20-11 after the opening quarter. The Wolfpack then submitted 14 dominant minutes across the second and third quarters, putting together a 42-7 run to put the game out of reach.
• Breanna Bolden moved to No. 19 on the College of Charleston all-time scoring list in the loss, moving past Sister Green (1975-77; 1180 Pts). Bolden logged a double-double with a game-high 17 points and 12 rebounds, adding three assists and two steals. It was the 13th double-double of her collegiate career.
• The freshman duo of Deja Ford and Cailin Dorsey both had career highs in scoring with 11 and 8 points respectively. Dorsey enjoyed a homecoming, as the Raleigh-native had the chance to play in front of her friends and family in her hometown. The two combined for five of the Cougars' seven threes on the night.
The Cougars return home for a Tuesday night showdown with yet-another ACC opponent, as the College will get set to host Virginia Tech at 6:30 p.m.
