
UNCG Surges Past CofC, 75-67

Mikko Koivisto scored 25 points and Kyle Hines added 23 points to lead the UNC Greensboro men's basketball team to a 75-67 Southern Conference win over the College of Charleston before 1,050 at Fleming Gym on Monday.
With the win, UNCG improved to 16-11 overall and 10-8 in league play. The Cougars, who host Georgia Southern at 7:00 on Thursday, fell to 12-16 and 7-11.
Jermaine Johnson, who finished with a team-high 18 points and eight rebounds, scored 12 points in the first half as the Cougars grabbed a 31-26 lead at intermission.
In the second half, UNCG came out red-hot hitting its first 10 field goal attempts and finished the second half hitting 84.2 percent from the floor (16-19). The Spartans outscored the Cougars 49-36 in the second half.
UNCG also got 22 points from Kevin Oleksiak and a game-high seven assists from Dwayne Johnson.
Charleston, which outscored UNCG's bench 22-0, got 12 points from Andrew Goudelock and 11 points from Donavan Monroe.
Jeremy Simmons came off the bench and had nine points and eight rebounds for Charleston, which shot 50.0 percent from the floor for the game hitting 28-of-56 attempts.
