The College of Charleston will play rival The Citadel in the opening round of the 2008 Southern Conference men's basketball championship on Friday at 7:30.

The Cougars, who are 2-0 against the Bulldogs this season, are 14-16 overall and 9-11 in league play after Saturday night's 77-59 win over Furman at John Kresse Arena.

The Cougars went 2-1 in last year's SoCon Tournament losing 72-65 to Davidson in the title game.
