College of Charleston Sailing Earns Two Wins in Three Events

The College of Charleston women's sailing team won 16 of 24 races to sweep the A and B-Divisions and win the SAISA Spring Women's Championship held this weekend at the J. Stewart Walker Sailing Center at Patriots Point in Mt. Pleasant, S.C. With the win the Cougars qualify for the ICSA Women's National Championship to be held May 26-28 in Newport, R.I.

Allie Blecher, Christina Murray and Katherine Metscher sailed in the A-Division and posted 26 points en route the win. The Cougars placed at least second in all but two of the A-Division races.

Shannon Heausler and Dani Neri posted just 16 points to take the B-Division. Second-place South Florida trailed in that division by 18 points. The Cougars won all but four of 12 races in the B-Division. In the four races they didn't win they came in second.
