The College of Charleston equestrian team will participate in the Intercollegiate Horse Show Association (IHSA) Nationals held at the Los Angeles (Calif.) Equestian Center beginning Thursday. This is the Cougars' 21st appearance over the past 25 years.
In April, the Cougars claimed their fourth straight IHSA Zone 5 championship held in Sewanee, Tenn.
Head Coach Bob Story is in his 17th season as head coach of the College of Charleston varsity equestrian team and his 26th overall at the school. Story came to CofC in 1980 to take over the equestrian club team. The team became an intercollegiate club team in 1983 when the Cougars joined the IHSA. The program went NCAA Division I in 1991 and the team became a varsity sport.
