Women's Atlantic Coast Championship

Cougars Sail to Second at Women's ACCs

In 16 races, the College of Charleston sailing team placed in the top 10 in 13 of them, but fell just two points short, finishing second behind Boston College at the Women's Atlantic Coast Championship held Nov. 14-15 in Providence, R.I. The Cougars posted 109 points, while the Eagles finished with 107.
Allison Blecher and Alyssa Aitken crewed the A-Division to sixth with 60 points with three top five finishes and one win, while Shannon Heausler and Rebecca Bestoso sailed the B-Division to second. Heausler and Bestoso won the second race and finished in the top five in three others.
The College of Charleston closes out the fall season Nov. 21-22 when it hosts SAISA/MAISA at the J. Stewart Walker Sailing Center in Mt. Pleasant, S.C.
