North and South Division Leaders to Clash Monday Night

The College of Charleston men's basketball team goes for its eighth win in a row Monday night, Jan. 25 in Cullowhee, N.C. as the Cougars, Southern Conference South Division leader, square off against North Division leader Western Carolina at 7 p.m. at the Ramsey Center.
The game will be televised locally on CSS (Comcast Channel 42) at 7 p.m.
Charleston is 13-6 overall and 8-0 in the Southern Conference and is coming off a thrilling 70-68 win over Wofford this past Saturday at the Carolina First Arena. Freshman Willis Hall (Charlotte, N.C.) led the Cougars with a career-high 16 points. Charleston leads the overall series against Western Carolina, 15-4 and won the last meeting. The Cougars defeated the Catamounts 67-48 in the quarterfinals of the 2009 Southern Conference Tournament.
Andrew Goudelock (Lilburn, Ga.) leads the Cougars with 19.1 points a game, while teammate Donavan Monroe (Waxhaw, N.C.) follows with 13.1 a game.
Charleston is averaging 72.6 points per game overall and 74.1 in conference play. On the other end, the Cougars are holding opponents to 70.8 points per game overall and just 64.2 in the SoCon.
During Charleston's seven-game win streak CofC has outscored the opposition 80.1-69.7, hitting 48.2 percent from the field. The winning streak is also the 13th longest in the nation.
The Cougars are off to an 8-0 SoCon start for the first time since they started 8-0 in 2000-01. The last time Charleston went 9-0 in the league was the 1998-99 season when the Cougars went 16-0.
Western Carolina is 15-4 overall and 5-2 in the league after having its three-game winning streak snapped with an 87-74 loss at Appalachian State Saturday. Jake Robinson leads the Catamounts with 12.8 points a game. Harouna Mutombo paces the team in rebounds with 4.8 a game.
The Catamounts are 10-0 at home this season and their overall 13-home-court winning streak that dates back to last season is 16th longest in the nation.
