
Cougars Look to Rebound with Trip to Statesboro

Charleston, 13-8 overall and 8-2 in the Southern Conference, dropped its second straight game for just the second time this season with an 86-71 loss at Davidson this past Thursday. Andrew Goudelock (Lilburn, Ga.,) scored over 20 points for the second straight game and eighth of his last nine. Goudelock and Tony White, Jr. (Knoxville, Tenn.) led the scoring effort with 22 points each. Goudelock, who earned SoCon Player-of-the-Week honors this past week, leads the team with 19.3 a game and is second in the league.
Georgia Southern is 6-16 overall and 3-6 in the league. The Eagles fought back from a 20-point deficit in the second half to defeat The Citadel, 61-58, in its last game. Willie Powers leads the Eagles with 14.8 points, with Antonio Hanson following with 12.8 a game.
Charleston is looking for the season sweep, having won earlier this season against the Eagles, 68-59. CofC has won the last five between the schools and owns the overall series record, 23-17.
The Cougars are 7-3 in their last 10 games and have outscored their opponents 78.5 - 74.0. Charleston is shooting 48.2 percent, compared to 43.0 for the opposition.
