
Sailing Competes in Atlantic Coast Championships

CHARLESTON, S.C. - The College of Charleston coed and women's sailing teams look to continue the season's success in the Atlantic Coast Championships this weekend.
The coed team will be hosting the Atlantic Coast Coed Championship at the J. Stewart Walker Sailing Center on Nov. 16-17, while the women's team will be sailing in the Atlantic Coast Women's Championship hosted by Cornell in Ithaca, N.Y., on the same dates.
Competing for the Cougars in the Atlantic Coast Coed Championship in Charleston will be sophomore skipper Jake Reynolds (San Diego, Calif.), junior Ali Blumenthal (Bellport, N.Y.) and sophomore Rebekah Schiff (Tampa, Fla.) in the A division. In the B division, sophomore skipper Ryan Davidson (Newport Beach, Calif.), sophomore Emily Stuart (Newport, R.I.) and senior Roy Shaw (Bacliff, Texas) will sail for the Cougars.
The Cougars will be hosting a very competitive regatta at the J. Stewart Walker Sailing Center that includes Boston College, Connecticut College, Fordham, Dartmouth, Eckerd, Georgetown, Hobart & William Smith, MIT, Navy, N.Y. Maritime, Old Dominion, Roger Williams, St. Mary's, Tufts, Pennsylvania, South Florida and Yale.
Representing the Cougars at the Atlantic Coast Women's Championship will be junior skipper Clerc Cooper (New Orleans, La.) and senior Elizabeth Chambers (Mooresville, N.C.) in the A division and senior skipper Grace Lucas (Little Silver, N.J.), junior Morgan Buckley (Yonkers, N.Y.), and sophomore Charlotte Saxe (Wilton, Conn.) in the B division.
The College of Charleston women's sailing team will compete against 17 other teams including Boston College, Brown, the Coast Guard, Cornell, Dartmouth, Eckerd, Georgetown, George Washington, Hobart & William Smith, MIT, Navy, Old Dominion, St. Mary's, Rhode Island, South Florida, Vermont and Yale.
