
Cougar Sailors Begin Spring Season at SAISA Open

CHARLESTON, S.C. – The College of Charleston coed sailing team begins its spring season at the SAISA Open hosted by Eckerd College on Feb. 14-15 in St. Petersburg, Fla.
The Cougars will sail freshman Jack Thompson (Newport Beach, Calif.) and freshman Marissa Bamonte (Tiverton, R.I.) in A-Division and freshman Liam Harr (Annapolis, Md.) and freshman Grace McCarthy (San Diego, Calif.) in B-Division.
Last year, CofC won the 20-team event by nine points over inter-conference rival South Florida. This year's regatta field also includes Auburn, Clemson, Duke, host Eckerd, Embry-Riddle, Florida State, Georgia Tech, Jacksonville, New College, NC State, Rollins College, Florida, Georgia, Miami (Fla.), North Carolina, UNCW, South Carolina and Tennessee.
