RICHMOND, Va. – College of Charleston's Grant Riller (Ocoee, Fla.) was named Colonial Athletic Association Co-Rookie of the Week as announced by the conference office on Monday.
Riller came off the bench and scored 21 points in just 24 minutes of action as the Cougars defeated crosstown rival The Citadel, 81-68, in the team's season opener on Nov. 11 at TD Arena.
The redshirt freshman guard, who missed all of last season due to a preseason ACL injury, hit 6-of-9 from the floor and was a perfect 9-for-9 at the free throw line in his collegiate debut. Riller also added three rebounds and two steals in the win. He shared the weekly honor with Eli Pemberton of Hofstra.
