LANDRUM, S.C. – In its last regular-season competition in the ring, the College of Charleston equestrian team won the team championship at the IHSA Upstate Schools Show held over the weekend at Foothills Equestrian Nature Center (FENCE).

Five equestrians took home blue ribbons including sophomore
Beverly Davis, who was the individual overall high score champion, and junior
Molly Coyle, who was the individual overall reserve high score champion. Both finished in first place in the Intermediate Flat and Intermediate Fences classes in their respective divisions.

Allyson Pace turned in a blue-ribbon ride in Novice Fences, while junior
Samantha Bledsoe won the Novice Fences class and sophomore
Lauren Duffy won the Advanced Walk/Trot/Canter class in their divisions.

Makenna Grierson placed second in Novice Flat, junior
Elizabeth High second in Beginner Walk/Trot/Canter and freshman
Kate Coffey second in Open Fences.

Four Cougar equestrians – Bledsoe in Advanced Walk/Trot/Canter, Coyle in Novice Flat, senior
Sophia Meserve in Intermediate Flat and Bernier in Intermediate Fences – qualified for and will compete this weekend at IHSA Regionals hosted by Lander University on Saturday, March 2 in Greenwood, S.C.
