Bentz Reserve Champion In Teresa L. McDonald Horsemanship Challenge at IHSA Nationals

SYRACUSE, N.Y. – College of Charleston senior Hannah Bentz (Boca Raton, Fla.) reached the finals of the Teresa L. McDonald Horsemanship Challenge at the Intercollegiate Horse Show Association (IHSA) National Championship and was crowned the reserve champion in the competition at the New York State Fairgrounds Expo Center on Saturday.
It was a career-best second-place finish at nationals for Bentz in the event after placing third in 2017 and fourth in 2018. She was one of 16 IHSA members from across the country to compete in the challenge.
Bentz was also the recipient of the IHSA Senior Athletic Academic Achievement Essay Award presented to her by IHSA founder Bob Cacchione. Each IHSA member may submit a 500-word essay about how the intercollegiate experience and academic achievement have prepared them for a future career. Bentz will graduate next weekend with a bachelor's degree in business administration from The College.
