Coffey Leads Cougars To Victory at IHSA Regionals

GREENWOOD, S.C. – The College of Charleston equestrian team started off its postseason strong with four blue-ribbon rides to win IHSA Regionals held at Lander University on Saturday.
For the second-straight time in the show ring, the Cougars were led by sophomore Kate Coffey (Westford, Mass.), who was a class winner in Open Flat and regional reserve champion in Open Fences.
She was one of four riders to qualify in five individual events for IHSA Zone Finals to be held on March 27-28 at SCAD in Savannah, Ga.
Senior Molly Coyle (Davidsonville, Md.) qualified for Zone Finals for the second year in a row with a first-place showing in Intermediate Flat.
Juniors Beverly Davis (Concord, N.C.) and Lauren Duffy (Alexandria, Va.) were also class winners in Intermediate Fences and Novice Flat respectively.
