Sowell Ties For 10th at NCAA Stillwater Regional

STILLWATER, Okla. – College of Charleston graduate senior Logan Sowell (Kershaw, S.C.) battled through tough course conditions and shot a final round 74 to finish tied for 10th at the NCAA Stillwater Regional and narrowly miss out on an individual bid to the NCAA National Championship.
Sowell carded a pair of birdies on the 14th and 18th holes to go along with 12 pars to finish the final round at two-over par and end the regional tournament in a tie for 10th with a three-round total of 215 (-1). He finished the regional two shots shy of punching a ticket to the NCAA National Championship as an individual.
The Cougars finished the regional with a three-day total of 901 (+37) with rounds of 304, 292 and 305 to finish in 11th ahead of Middle Tennessee State (+39) and No. 35 Alabama (+41). Host Oklahoma State won the regional by 14 shots with a three-round total of 836 (-28) to beat out Illinois' team total of 850 (-14).
"This week was a great experience for the team and our seniors," head coach Mitch Krywulycz said. "They have been fantastic ambassadors for our program and The College. I'm exceptionally proud of them and look forward to having them stay close to our program."
Graduate senior Hunter Dunagan (Augusta, Ga.) matched Sowell's final round of 74 that included a two-under par 34 with three birdies on the back nine. Graduate seniors Michael Sass (Louisville, Ky.) and Christian Baliker (Greenville, S.C.) finished the regional tied for 59th with three-round totals of 232 (+16). Dunagan tied for 65th with a three-round total of 233 (+17) followed by CAA individual medalist Zach Reuland (Rock Hill, S.C.) in 68th with a three-round total of 235 (+19).
