CHARLESTON, S.C. --- College of Charleston athletics, in partnership with ANC, unveiled upgrades inside TD Arena ahead of the 2022-23 athletics season including two new video boards, a 360-degree ribbon board, scorer's table, and shot clocks that will significantly enhance the fan experience.
"College of Charleston Athletics is committed to continually improving our facilities and the game day experience for its fans and student-athletes," said Director of Athletics Matt Roberts. "The addition of the new video elements in TD Arena will make what is already one of the best venues in the NCAA even better. We are excited to share these enhancements with the Charleston community."
The new 10mm LED video displays (10' high, 19' wide) will replace the existing video boards that are located above sections 208 and 216. The boards feature variable content zoning allowing it to show content such as live video, instant replays, up-to-the-minute statistics, graphics and sponsorship messages.
"It is always our goal to elevate the fan experience & atmosphere and these new video elements do just that," said Assistant AD for Revenue and Fan Engagement Jessica Rodgers. "I can't wait for our fans to get to TD Arena to experience the upgrades this season!"
Along with the video boards, TD Arena will feature a 360-degree ribbon board along the fascia of the 200 level sections. The 450 linear feet of ribbon board replaces the old scoreboards and static sponsor signs allowing for a more dynamic and immersive opportunity to engage fans with in-game statistics, crowd prompts replacing the scoreboards in each corner of the arena as well as adding extra space for sponsors, advertisements and in-game statistics.
Fans will get their first chance to experience the upgrades this Friday at noon when the Charleston volleyball team hosts Fresno State to kick off its season-opening tournament, the CofC Classic. The field also features The Citadel and Rutgers with six total matches over the two-day tournament.
