
Charleston Takes Claim to SAISA Fleet Title

CHARLESTON, S.C. – College of Charleston sailing made it two SAISA Women's titles in as many days cruising to a 19-point win in the Fleet Championship on home waters.
Charleston started strong crossing the finish line first in each of the first six races on their way to posting 31 points across 16 races. The Cougars bested USF (50) by winning 10 of the 16 races across both divisions and finishing outside the top two just three times.
The Cougars were led by skippers Grace Squires, Emma Tallman and Emily Alfortish along with crew members Marina Dryer, Roxanne Snyder and Chloe Hudgins.
Sunday's title was the second for the Charleston women in as many days after taking the Open Championship Saturday morning with a 10-1 record.
With the win, College of Charleston received an automatic qualifier for the Women's Fleet Race Nationals.
