CHARLESTON, S.C. – CAA-leading rebounder Frankie Policelli has signed to play for
Pat Kelsey and the College of Charleston Cougars as a graduate transfer for the 2023-2024 season.
Policelli spent two season at league rival Stony Brook. He posted a league best 310 boards averaging 9.4 a contest. The 6-7 forward grabbed a career-best 19 rebounds at Army on December 18. The New York native also averaged 13.7 points per game in 33.4 minutes per game.
"Frankie is an experienced, veteran player with size, skill and toughness," said Kelsey. "He led our league in rebounding last year and was mere percentage points from averaging a double-double for the season."
He started his collegiate career in the Atlantic 10 at Dayton making 20 appearances for the Flyers in 2018-2019. Policelli played high school basketball at Long Island Lutheran and New Hartford where he was named Second Team All-New York by USA Today.
"Through all our due diligence, and our staff does excellent job at this, everyone spoke so highly of Frankie's character, what a great teammate he is, and how great he is in the locker room," added Kelsey. "Those are qualities of a Charleston basketball player."
Policelli joins transfers Bryce Butler, Kobe Rodgers and CJ Fulton in 2023-2024 signing class along with incoming freshmen Mayar Wol and James Scott.
