CHARLESTON, S.C. – College of Charleston head equestrian coach Natasha V. McCarthy announced the addition of Hope King as an assistant coach Thursday morning.
King recently concluded a four-year riding career at Oklahoma State University. She was head of the program's recruiting committee and served on the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee.
"We are so excited to have Hope King as our new College of Charleston Equestrian Assistant Coach. Being a Division I athlete herself and recent graduate of Oklahoma State University (double discipline starter of their 2022 NCAA National Championship NCEA Team) and being a Charleston SC native of her own right, Hope has such an amazing combination of experience and sense of community that will really enhance our team's student athlete's experience," said McCarthy.
No stranger to Charleston, King previously worked as a marketing consultant for White Horses LLC which is the home training facility for the College of Charleston program. She also worked as a marketing and social media intern for the National Collegiate Equestrian Association (NCEA).
"It's a proud moment for me to have her back in Charleston as a part of our coaching staff. I'm excited to watch her grow with our CofC Community and our equestrian team."
King graduated from Oklahoma State in May with a Bachelor of Science degree in business administration.
