LYNCHBURG, Va. - The College of Charleston equestrian team fell to the University of Lynchburg 8-2 on Friday.
"I am incredibly proud of the entire team today; everybody rode fantastic and held their own. We were not far off the Hornets in each event which is a great position to be in as a newly established NCEA team," said head coach Natasha McCarthy. "We are eager to gain the experience, log the miles, and ramp up our momentum in this head to head format. We are looking forward to Saturday's match up against Bridgewater College!"
Caroline Berg and Lily Toensing both picked up points for the Cougars with Berg earning MOP honors on the flat. Toensing earned her point on fences.
Despite falling in the dual, the Cougars' raw score was higher than the Hornets 800-797.
