CHARLESTON, S.C. - The College of Charleston sailing team won the SAISA Spring Open Team Race Championships to qualify for Open Team & Fleet Race Nationals.
The open team went 15-0 on the weekend and won the fleet race by 22 points to advance. Skippers Brandon Geller, Axel Stordahl, Alex Gonzalez, Benjamin Dufour, and Noah Zittrer along with crew members Chloe Hudgins, Noelle Owen, Garrett Grenauer, Aiden Iaconis, and Lucy Klempen helped lead the Cougars to victory over competitors, Miami, Jacksonville, NC State, Clemson, Rollins, The Citadel and Florida State.
Nationals will take place on April 25-27 in Boston, Mass.
Additionally, the offshore team competed at the Coast Guard Academy, taking third place.
