
Cross Country Concludes Season at NCAA Regionals

CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. – The College of Charleston cross country teams competed in the NCAA Southeast Regional Friday, November 14 in Charlottesville, Va. The women's team placed 24th in the field while the men placed 23rd.
For the women, Katie O'Toole crossed the line first with a new personal record in the 6k of 22:08.6. O'Toole shaved nearly 20 seconds off her last 6k time at the CAA Championships.
Cayden Crismon finished second for the Cougars with a time of 22:10.3. Jeorgi Gavalas, Savannah Stoutt, and Andie Harding were the remaining three scorers for Charleston.
The women's team finished ahead of CAA foes, Hampton and Campbell.
For the men, Declan Byrne posted a time of 31:59.2 in the 10k. Byrne's time ranks fourth in the Charleston all-time record book.
Andrew Catapano crossed the line second for the Cougars with a time of 32:53.2. The sophomore improved from his freshman time of 35:01.8 at the NCAA Southeast Regionals. Will Buckley, Adrian Miller, and Roger Brown were the remaining three scorers for Charleston.
The men's team defeated Elon from the CAA and in-state rivals Coastal Carolina and USC Upstate.
