Men's Golf Opens Play at Bulls Bay

CHARLESTON, S.C. - The College of Charleston men's golf team sits at T6 (-6) after the opening round of the Hootie at Bulls Bay Intercollegiate. The Cougars are seven strokes behind leader Purdue and just three strokes out of third place.

Kieron van Wyk returned to the lineup following two PGA Tour appearances at the Puerto Rico Open and Valspar Championship. He currently leads the Cougars at T11 (-3). Loran Appel and Waymon Thomas follow closely behind with Appel's 2-under round and Thomas' 1-under round. All three Cougars sank four birdies in the round.

Charleston ranks second in total birdies with 19 on the day.

The Cougars return to action tomorrow for the second round from Bulls Bay.
