Men's Golf Climbs to Second at Hootie Intercollegiate

CHARLESTON, S.C. - The College of Charleston men's golf team posted the lowest team round with a 10-under, 67 to jump to second place on day two of the Hootie at Bulls Bay Intercollegiate.
The Cougars are 16-under for the tournament, six strokes behind leader Purdue entering the final round. Charleston also leads the field in total birdies with 45.
Senior Nevill Ruiter jumped 31 spots to T7 with a 5-under, 67 round, the second lowest round of all competitors. He sank eight birdies on the day, including three straight on four, five, and six. Classmate Kieron van Wyk sits at T5 after 3-under round with six birdies.
Sophomores Loran Appel (-1), Miles Eubanks (-1), and Waymon Thomas (+1) complete the Cougar lineup with all five players at or under par entering tomorrow's final round.
