CHARLESTON, S.C. – College of Charleston head men's basketball coach Chris Mack has announced the signing of Jlynn Counter to the Cougars' 2025-2026 roster.
The 6'3" graduate point guard spent last season at Middle Tennessee State after two seasons at IU Indy.
"We are ecstatic to add a point guard with the ability and character of Jlynn. I haven't been around too many bigger personalities in all my years of coaching," said Mack. "He has a magnetic personality and a game to match."
An Oklahoma City native, Counter saw action in 32 contests with 26 starts for the Blue Raiders averaging 10.6 ppg, 4.1 rpg, and 3.5 apg while shooting 43% from the field.
He scored a season-high 22 points at Belmont and grabbed a season-high 11 rebounds at Kennesaw St, scoring in double-figures on 17 occasions.
Prior to Middle Tennessee, Counter was an All-Horizon league performer at IU Indy. He was the Jaguars' leading scorer and assist-getter during both of his seasons in Indy. He averaged 14.3 points and 3.0 assists per game in 2023-2024 while scoring in double figures 23 times. He averaged 14.5 points and 3.3 assists per game in 2022-2023, scoring 27 points on two occasions.
"Jlynn, at his best, makes the game easier for his teammates. He's a big guard that uses his body well, gets in the lane and makes the right play. He can score it as well and relishes challenges. Like all good point guards, he does what the game tells him to do."
He joined IU Indy after a year at Northern Oklahoma College-Enid, where he earned Second Team All-Region 2 honors and was named to the region's All-Freshman team.
