
Charleston NCEA Advances to National Championship Finals

OCALA, Fla. – Three-seeded College of Charleston equestrian defeated two-seeded Sweet Briar, 7-3, Friday afternoon in the NCEA National Championship semifinals at the World Equestrian Center.
With the victory, the Cougars advance to the National Championship meet against four-seeded Dartmouth.
CofC begin the first half of competition with a 4-1 advantage in the fences. Senior Kathryn McCarthy had a team-best 84.3 Freshman Dylan Bazaar (78), sophomore Camilla Murray (79.3) and senior Hailey Pendl (80.3) also picked up points for the Cougars in the first half.
Charleston finished the flat portion with a score of 3-2 to hang onto the victory. Sophomore Camilla Murray (82) and seniors Kathryn McCarthy (75) and Caroline Berg (73.3) earned points.
In its first season competing in the NCEA, the Cougars will look to earn its first National Championship on Saturday, April 19. Action begins at 9 a.m.
