SWAINTON, N.J. - The College of Charleston men's golf team will look to defend their title at the 2025 CAA Men's Golf Championship April 20-22 at The Union League Golf Club in Swainton, New Jersey.
Charleston enters this season's championship fresh off the 2024 title where the Cougars set a new CAA Championship record with a 35-under finish. Senior Kieron van Wyk tied with teammate Zach Reuland for co-medalist honors.
Coach Mitch Krywulycz's team is currently ranked No. 61 in the NCAA Power Rankings powered by Clippd—the highest of any team competing in the league championship. The Cougars are joined by Campbell, Delaware, Drexel, Elon, Hofstra, Monmouth, North Carolina A&T, Towson, UNCW, and William & Mary in the field.
Charleston most recently finished 14th at the Augusta Haskins Award Invitational. Kieron van Wyk led the Cougars at T37 (-3).
Van Wyk has won individual titles this season at the White Sands Bahamas Invitational and the Hootie at Bulls Bay Intercollegiate. The senior played in two PGA Tour events this spring, the Puerto Rico Open and Valspar Championship, earning a T4 finish in Puerto Rico.
In January, he captured the APGA Tour's season-opening Farmers Insurance Invitational on Sunday at Torrey Pines Golf Course (South), becoming the first amateur golfer to win an APGA event since the tour started in 2010. van Wyk is the top ranked golfer in the Bridgestone APGA Collegiate Rankings. Currently ranked No. 22 in the nation, he was also named to the Haskins Award Watch List.
Charleston will look for its eighth league championship since joining the CAA in the 2013–14 season and fourth crown in the last five seasons.
