
Cougars Win SAISA Open Team Race Championship

CHARLESTON, S.C. – College of Charleston sailing finished first in the SAISA Open Team Race Championship while also earning a third-place finish at Emily Wick and fifth in the J70 Invitational No. 2.
In their final home regatta of the season, the Cougars finished ahead of two of the other four schools in the final round to go 14-1 and help secure the victory.
At Emily Wick, CofC's boats had 47 and 73 points for a total of 120. Northeastern finished at the top with 89 total points, followed by second-place George Washington, who had 102 points.
The offshore team finished fifth at their race with 62 total points.
Charleston returns to action April 11-13 for the SAISA Women's Team Race and Fleet Race Championships, the Oberg Trophy and Thomson Regatta.
