CHARLESTON, S.C. -   College of Charleston head men's basketball coach Chris Mack has announced the signing of Australian center Chol Machot to the Cougars' 2025-2026 roster.

Machot spent the 2024-2025 season at Florida SouthWestern State, averaging 11.6 points, 6.5 rebounds and 2.7 blocks per game while shooting 60% from the field. He started 17 contests in 27 appearances on his way to earning First Team All-Citrus honors.

"We are fired up to be adding Chol Machot to our family. Getting to know him throughout the recruiting process it is evident we are getting an impressive young man. Chol has a chance to be a special player," said Mack.

The 7'0" center had a career-high 29 points vs. #10 Daytona State this season, scoring in double-figures on 15 occasions. He grabbed a career-high and Florida SouthWestern State single-game record 18 rebounds vs. Florida Coastal Prep. He also set a Florida SouthWestern single season record with 70 blocks on the year for the Buccaneers.

"You don't find many 7-footers as athletic and nimble as Chol. He understands he has to get stronger, but that will happen in time. Until then he competes, he fights, and he wants to win. The rest will come with hard work and experience. His defensive presence at the rim gives us another presence in the lane. Cougar fans, please welcome Chol to The College!"

Machot was a three-star in the 2024 recruiting class, according to 247Sports composite rankings. He played his high school basketball for Winston Salem Christian in North Carolina.
