#2 NCEA Kicks Off 2025-26 Campaign at #3 Lynchburg

9/25/2025 2:24:00 PM

RUSTBURG, Va. – No. 2 College of Charleston equestrian begins its second season in NCEA where it began its inaugural campaign, at No. 3 Lynchburg. The Cougars take on the Hornets Sept. 26 at 2 p.m.

"We are eager to get back on the road and to return to Lynchburg for our first meet of the year," said head coach Natasha Vitkovic. "After graduating three very seasoned seniors this May, we have been working hard with a few new starters in effort to get them up to speed for the head-to-head format, especially against a powerhouse like Lynchburg. Assistant coach Hope King and I feel as prepared as possible with the changes in our roster and return from summer break."

Charleston had tremendous success in its first season competing in two formats with the NCEA team winning the ECAC Conference Championships, advancing to the NCEA National Championships in Ocala, Fla. In Florida, the Cougars defeated Sweet Briar, advancing to the finals where they were the National Champion runner up in just their first year competing.

The NCEA team welcomes back returners Sydney Callagy, Maddi Cardelli, Ella Collins, Olivia Lonneman, Camilla Murray and Lainie Rubin. Kenda Murray and Olivia Welsh, who both competed in IHSA last season join the NCEA squad along with incoming transfers Samantha Aisenberg and Samantha Elliott.

IHSA begins its fall slate Oct. 4-5 in Tryon, N.C., versus South Carolina and Wofford while the NCEA team returns to action Oct. 17 for a home meet against Sweet Briar.
