Men's Basketball Earns Fifth Straight Victory

CHARLESTON, S.C. – The College of Charleston men's basketball team held North Carolina A&T under 30% from the field in the second half to help secure the program's fifth straight win, a 78-62 victory over the Aggies on Thursday night in Charleston. With the win, Charleston moves to 16-8 overall and 9-2 in CAA play.

- After a slow offensive start, Charleston went on a 13-3 run highlighted by a Colby Duggan triple and Christian Reeves slam dunk to take a 20-14 lead with nine minutes to play.
- North Carolina A&T didn't back down, taking a one-point lead at 25-24 before the teams traded points through the final minutes of the half. The Cougars ended the frame going 5-5 from the field while holding the Aggies to 2-8 during the same stretch to enter the locker room up 41-37. Duggan led the Cougars with 11 points at the break.

- The Cougars took their largest lead of the game at 47-39 three minutes into the second half and never looked back. Charleston caused four A&T turnovers while holding the Aggies scoreless for nearly three minutes to go up 15 after a Jlynn Counter mid range floater.

- Charleston ended the contest holding A&T scoreless for another prolonged stretch, this time just over five minutes, to earn their largest conference victory of the season thus far.
- Reeves and Counter led Charleston with 16 points each. Reeves added six rebounds while going 7-9 from the field while Counter dished out six assists to add to his league leading total.
- Martin Kalu had a team-high seven boards to go with nine points.
- Duggan was the final Cougar in double-figures, recording 12 on the night.
- Connor Hickman went 3-4 from the field and grabbed five rebounds. The graduate student also recorded a career-high six steals.

GAME NOTES
- Charleston shot 53% from the field compared to 37% from North Carolina A&T.
- The Aggies won the rebounding battle 35-31.
- The Cougars have not lost a game this season when leading at the half.
- Charleston scored 44 points in the paint and 23 points off Aggie turnovers.
