Pierce Joins Cougar Roster

CHARLESTON, S.C. – College of Charleston head men's basketball coach John Groce has announced the signing of Braden Pierce to the 2026-27 Cougars' roster.
The 7'0 center spent the 2025-26 season at Villanova, appearing in 30 contests for the Wildcats while shooting 67% from the field. Pierce will join the Cougars as a redshirt sophomore.
"We are unbelievably excited to have Braden join our program. He will bring great size and athleticism, and his upside is so exciting," said Groce. "We are looking forward to helping him grow his game and for Braden to help our program succeed."
Prior to Villanova, Pierce spent two seasons at Maryland. He appeared in five games for the Terrapins in 2024-25 before being sidelined by injury.
A Woodstock, Ga. Native, Pierce played prep basketball at IMG Academy and River Ridge High School.
