CHARLESTON, S.C. - College of Charleston head men's basketball coach John Groce has announced the signing of Trey Scott III to the 2026-27 Cougars' roster.
The 6'11" forward from Atlanta played in 26 games last season for Georgia State as a redshirt freshman, averaging 5.3 points per game and 3.4 rebounds per game.
"We are excited to have Trey as part of our Cougar Basketball family! He brings size, skill and shooting to our program," said Groce. "His ability to stretch the floor from the 5 position puts opposing teams in mismatch scenarios. Trey is perfect for our style of play, and we are looking forward to enhancing his overall development."
Scott III scored a career-high 22 points at Coastal Carolina, going 7-9 from the field. He set a career-high of eight rebounds at home vs. Old Dominion during the 2025-26 campaign.
An All-State selection at Mount Vernon Presbyterian, Scott III led his team to the 2024 Class A state title while averaging 12 points, seven rebounds and one block per game. He concluded his senior season playing in the 50th Annual Capitol Classic All-Star Game.
