Douglas R. Puffenbarger, Class of '81 (Soccer)
As a freshman, Douglas Puffenbarger lit up the scoreboards with three points per game. He ranked among the nation's top 5 scorers all season as the freshmen-laden Cougars went 13-4 to finish as a top seed and became a host of the district playoffs. An all-district selection in 1978, he played for the Memphis Americans in the Major Indoor Soccer League during his junior campaign. He also made the 1984 Summer Olympic Games team that competed in Los Angeles.
