Andy Lovell, Class of '91 (Sailing)
Andy Lovell sailed for the Cougars from 1989-92 and was a two-time All-American and a two-time honorable mention All-American. In 1991, he was named Intercollegiate Sailing Association (ICSA) Sailor of the Year. Lovell helped CofC win the Leonard B. Fowle Trophy as the best overall team in college sailing in 1988. He led the Cougars to a win in the singlehanded and sloop national competition in 1991. Lovell also won the sloop title in 1992. He placed second at the U.S. Olympic Trials in the laser class in 1996 and repeated it in the star class in 2004.
