Fans Code of Conduct
The College of Charleston is committed to creating a safe, comfortable, and enjoyable experience for fans of all ages (including and especially children), student-athletes, coaches and officials both at TD Arena and on our campus. We want all fans attending our games to enjoy the experience in a responsible fashion.
Event patrons are responsible for their own conduct as well as the conduct of their guests and/or persons using their tickets.
Fans are subject to ejection and ticket holders risk losing their ticket account and/or parking privileges as a result of the following inappropriate and disruptive behavior:
- Excessive consumption of alcohol
- Obscene, profane or abusive language
- Dangerous, obscene, profane or abusive behavior
- Interfering with other fans' ability to see the game
- Smoking inside of TD Arena
- Scalping or other improper resale of tickets
- Interfering with security procedures
- Interfering with the process of the game or going onto the court
- Throwing any objects onto the court or in the arena
- Any action warranting ejection and/or confiscation of game tickets by police or TD Arena security
Guest Conduct Response
TD Arena strives to provide its guests with a safe, comfortable, and enjoyable atmosphere. Therefore, TD Arena has established the following guidelines:
- Guests using foul or abusive language or inappropriate or unacceptable gestures may be ejected from TD Arena
- Guests interfering with other guests' ability to enjoy the event may be subject to ejection
- Guests appearing impaired may be ejected and turned over to the authorities
- There will be no re-entry into TD Arena. Once you enter into the arena for a game, you will not be allowed to re-enter if you choose to go outside. (NEW FOR 2017-18)
- All bags will be checked by EPI staff upon entry to TD Arena. Please plan accordingly. (NEW FOR 2017-18). All guests are subject to a search outside the entrance gates. Security personnel have the right to check bags, purses, blankets, coats, pockets, etc. Alcohol and other non-permissible items will be prevented from being carried into the arena. Fans will be asked to either take prohibited items back to their car or dispose of them properly. There are no provisions to check items at the gates.
Prohibited Items
- Coolers, thermoses, cups, bottles, cans, flasks
- Food or Drink of any kind
- Video cameras, tripods, recording devices and detachable camera lenses over 6", selfie sticks
- Weapons/concealed weapons
- Alcoholic beverages
- Containers of any kind
- Aerosol and spray cans
- Bicycles, skates, scooters or skateboards
- Open umbrellas
- Mace/pepper spray
- Animals (except service animals)
- Laser lights, strobe lights and pointers
- Irritants such as artificial noisemakers
- Fireworks/explosives
- Inflatables (beach balls, etc.)
- Flags and flagpoles, unauthorized banners, posters, props, pom poms, etc.
- Strollers or portable chairs (unless ADA compliant)
- Illegal drugs
- Personal seatbacks with armrests
- Unauthorized masks of any kind
- Drones
Smoking/Tobacco Policy
The College of Charleston Tobacco-Free Campus Policy went into effect on July 1, 2014, meaning that the College of Charleston is now a healthy, tobacco free environment. The policy stipulates that no use of tobacco is allowed on any campus property, and that covers all forms of tobacco, including smokeless (chew or dip) and e-cigarettes.

Parking
With a high level of interest and excitement surrounding both the College of Charleston men's and women's basketball programs, fans attending a Cougar basketball game should plan accordingly to ensure you do not miss any of the action:
- Fans are encouraged to arrive at least one hour prior to tipoff in anticipation of traffic congestion around the arena and longer lines at both the ticket windows and scanning lines.
- There is no designated general parking area for games at TD Arena. There are various parking garages and paid lots in the vicinity of TD Arena that all spectators should use.
Handicap Seating
Handicap accessible seating is available at various locations throughout TD Arena. On the seating charts, they are labeled handicap reserve and are located in our box seating along the concourse of TD Arena. Handicap seating is available to the patron with the disability and one guest. Handicap accessible seating is sold on a first-come, first-serve basis by visiting
www.CofCSports.com/tickets or calling 843-953-COFC (2632) Monday - Friday 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
Guide Dogs/Service Animals
Trained guide dogs and service animals are permitted/allowed to assist guests inside the arena. Please notify the arena at the time of ticket purchase if special accommodations are required for the service animal. All other animals are prohibited. If you need assistance while at the TD Arena, please contact an usher or staff member.
First Aid
If medical assistance is needed, contact the nearest usher for directions to the closest first aid facility. There is a first aid room equipped and staffed as a limited treatment station located on the concourse level next to Home Team BBQ near the George Street student entrance.
Lost and Found
Any items that have been lost or found should be reported to the Guest Services Kiosk on the main concourse between sections 101 & 115. Guests may call (843) 953-5609 during normal business hours to inquire about lost and found items.
Lost Patrons
Lost patrons and persons looking for lost patrons should proceed immediately to the guest services kiosk located on the main concourse between sections 101 & 115. Notify an arena staff member as quickly as possible.
Arena Entrances
The main entrance for TD Arena is located at 301 Meeting Street, Charleston, SC. The student entrance is located on George Street, between King and Meeting Street. Doors will open 90 minutes prior to tipoff for all games.
- Student Entrance(s)
- Men’s Basketball: All full-time students at The College receive free entry to men’s basketball games (and all other sports) as space allows. TD Arena has a 1,000 seat student section designated for this purpose. The only requirement for entry is a valid College of Charleston student ID (and at security request, a matching driver’s license/identification card). If you need to replace your Cougar Card, please visit Cougar Card Services to do so. You will enter the arena through the George Street student entrance – the alleyway across from the George Street surface parking lot. Entry will begin 90 minutes prior to tipoff for Men’s Basketball games. Student ID cards will be scanned at the entrance to the alley (where ID's will also be checked for student tailgates throughout the year).
- Women’s Basketball: For women’s basketball games, you will enter through the main TD Arena Entrance at 301 Meeting Street. You must show your valid student ID to the security staff. Entry for women’s basketball games begins 1 hour prior to tipoff.
- Student Backpack Check (Men’s Basketball Only)
- Men’s Basketball: At Men’s Basketball games, students who are coming directly from class can “check in” their bag at the Practice Gym (right next to the Student Entrance). Public Safety/Security Staff will provide students with a tag for their bag and will monitor the bags throughout the game. Bags can be picked up as you exit the game.
Arena Tickets, Refunds/Resale
The ticket office is located in the main lobby of TD Arena. Tickets cannot be resold inside or outside of TD Arena. Lost or stolen tickets are not the responsibility of the ticket office staff, and additional tickets can be purchased through the ticket office if available. College of Charleston Athletics has a no refunds, no exchanges policy. The ticket office reserves the right to refuse admission. Every person who wishes to occupy a seat, regardless of age, must have a ticket to the event and facility. If a child is 3 and under and will not take up a seat they do not need a ticket. It is the responsibility of the ticket holder to be familiar with all ticket usage rules and regulations, which can be found on the back of all tickets.
Men's Basketball Seating
All seating during men's games is reserved and designated with a section, row, and seat number on the ticket. Fans must remain in their designated seat numbers.
Women's Basketball Seating
All seating during women’s games is general admission seating. General admission seats are filled on a first-come, first-served basis.

Will Call
Will call is defined as tickets left or purchased in advance, tickets purchased via phone or online that were not mailed, or printed at home. Will call is available during regular business hours at the TD Arena Ticket Office. Guests must present a photo ID to pick up tickets. Tickets must be under the name of the person who will pick the tickets up. If there is a need to change the will call name, the guest can contact the ticket office prior by phone or email. Please be advised WILL CALL lines may be longer on game day and we recommend picking up tickets ahead of time.
Guest Services
For any guest service needs, please visit the Guest Services on the concourse between sections 101 & 115 in TD Arena.
Political Materials & Solicitations
Distribution of political stickers, brochures, promotional items, or other solicitations is strictly forbidden on properties owned or being leased by the University, including TD Arena. Vending of any goods or services is strictly prohibited in the lots owned or leased by the athletics department on game day.
Restrooms
Arena restrooms are located throughout the main arena concourse for your convenience. For Family restrooms, contact the Guest Services kiosk located on the concourse between section 101 & 115.
Recycling/Trash Removal
The University conveniently places receptacles for the disposal of trash and recyclables throughout the arena and parking areas. Please help us keep the area enjoyable by disposing all bagged trash into these receptacles. Fans are encouraged to utilize recycling containers with appropriate items.
Security
The College of Charleston makes every attempt to ensure that all fans are able to enjoy attending the game. In the unfortunate event that threatening or illegal behavior is observed, guests may contact uniformed security or EPI staff located throughout the arena. Officers from various law enforcement agencies are stationed throughout the arena. Please do not hesitate to report suspicious behavior or unruly fans. Game day law enforcement personnel are coordinated by the College of Charleston Public Safety office at (843) 953-5609.
Flash Photography
Cameras that elicit a flash are not allowed once the contest begins. Flashes are a distraction to the student-athletes and could potentially present a safety issue.
Artificial Noisemakers
Artificial noisemakers are not permitted in TD Arena and will be confiscated by security.
Autographs
Fans should not ask student-athletes to signs items other than promotional items created by College of Charleston Athletics such as posters, schedules, programs, etc. Asking a student-athlete to sign a non-CofC produced item could potentially cause a NCAA eligibility issue for that student-athlete.
