Charleston Basketball Gameday Information

ARENA ENTRANCES 

The main entrance to TD Arena is wheelchair accessible with an elevator that provides access to the main concourse and 200 level. The main seating location for those with wheelchair needs are located on the 100-level concourse. Fans should only sit in these seats if they have the appropriate tickets. Event security will be checking tickets to ensure the appropriate individuals are utilizing these areas. For more information, please visit the Ticket Office located in the main lobby of TD Arena.

For Men’s Basketball games, a drop-off lane is provided for your convenience in the right-hand lane traveling along Meeting Street next to TD Arena. Signage is provided in this location and Public Safety will be used in conjunction to assist with stopping vehicles and assisting patrons with entry into the facility.

ALCOHOL

Beer is sold throughout TD Arena. Patrons purchasing alcoholic beverages will be carded by event security staff and will be limited to two beverages per sale.

The possession of alcohol while entering TD Arena is expressly prohibited. Patrons in violation will be ejected and may be subject to arrest. In an effort to provide a world-class fan experience for all individuals, those who are intoxicated will be denied entry into the arena, regardless of ticket possession.

ARENA ENTRANCES

The main entrance TD Arena is located on Meeting Street and is the only fan entrance into the facility. Doors will open one and a half hours prior to tip-off for Men’s games and one hour prior to tip-off for Women’s Basketball games. (Subject to change)

TD Arena has a no re-entry policy and tickets can only be scanned once.

ARENA TICKETS, REFUNDS/RESALE 

The ticket office is located in the main lobby of TD Arena. Tickets cannot be resold inside or outside of TD Arena. Lost or stolen tickets are not the responsibility of the ticket office staff, and additional tickets can be purchased through the ticket office if available. College of Charleston Athletics has a no refunds, no exchanges policy. The ticket office reserves the right to refuse admission. Every person who wishes to occupy a seat, regardless of age, must have a ticket to the event and facility. If a child is under 3 and will not take up a seat, then they do not need a ticket. It is the responsibility of the ticket holder to be familiar with all ticket usage rules and regulations, which can be found on the back of all tickets. 

ARTIFICIAL NOISEMAKERS 

Artificial noisemakers are not permitted in TD Arena and will be confiscated by security. 

ATM LOCATIONS 

There are no ATMs available inside TD Arena. 

AUTOGRAPHS 

Fans should not ask student-athletes to sign items other than promotional items created by the College of Charleston Athletics Department, such as posters, schedules, programs, etc. Asking a student-athlete to sign a non-CofC produced item could potentially cause a NCAA eligibility issue for that student-athlete. Thanks for helping us protect the eligibility of our College of Charleston student athletes! 

BUSES

COUGAR FANS CODE OF CONDUCT 

Cougar fans are encouraged to wear maroon and gold to games and to enthusiastically support the team. Our goal is to create a world-class experience with integrity, while exhibiting good sportsmanship and maintaining a safe and respectful atmosphere for our teams and fans to enjoy. The College of Charleston image is not only shaped by our student-athletes, coaches, students, and faculty, but by our fans as well. Our goal is to create a high-energy environment to support our team while maintaining a wholesome family-oriented atmosphere.

In the spirit of sportsmanship, Cougar fans shall: 

• conduct themselves in a manner that represents their College, the Colonial Athletic Association, and the NCAA with honor, dignity, and respect 

• not use vulgar, abusive, racist, sexist, demeaning, or intimidating language at any time 

• support the players, coaches, and officials in a positive manner 

• treat the visiting team, coaches, and fans with courtesy and respect at all times 

• demonstrate the qualities of civility and sportsmanship at all times 

• not engage in cheers that are vulgar, crass, or demeaning 

• refrain from throwing objects onto the court for any reason 

• not become inebriated or belligerent 

• refrain from entering the playing area at any time, including after the game 

• be a positive role model for those around them by treating others with courtesy and respect 

Event management staff and arena security will respond to complaints of misconduct. Noncompliance with the code of conduct could result in fans being removed from the facility and potentially losing their ability to purchase tickets to College of Charleston athletic events in the future. CLEAR BAG POLICY 

Fans are encouraged to refrain from bringing any type of bags inside TD Arena during basketball games; however, the following outlines bags that are permitted: 

• One bag that is clear plastic, vinyl or PVC and does not exceed 12” x 6” x 12” 

OR 

• One-gallon clear plastic freezer bag (Ziploc bag or similar) 

AND 

• Small clutch bags, with or without a handle or strap that do not exceed 4.5” x 6.5” (approximately the size of a hand) 

• An exception may be made for medically necessary items after proper inspection. 

All bags and containers will be searched upon entry by arena security personnel. We strongly encourage fans to leave their large bags at home, as this will reduce the wait time for entry.

EMERGENCY OR SEVERE WEATHER EVACUATION PROCEDURES

All severe weather will be monitored by CofC Game Day staff; announcements will be made over the PA system if there is any threat to fan safety.

ELEVATORS 

An elevator is available for access to all levels of TD Arena. The main elevator is located off the main lobby to TD Arena. 

FIRST AID 

If medical assistance is needed, contact the nearest usher for directions to the closest first aid facility. There is a first aid room (Room 239) equipped and staffed as a limited treatment station on the concourse next to top of the stairwell near the George Street student entrance. 

FLASH PHOTOGRAPHY 

Camera bags and cases are not permitted in any Athletics facilities. Nor is flash photography that could disrupt play. Small cameras with lenses (that fit in an approved clear bag) that also do not obstruct the view of other patrons are permitted. Cameras that elicit a flash are not allowed once the contest begins. 

GATE ENTRY & EXIT 

  • The main gate to TD Arena will open 1.5 hours prior to tip-off. The Student Entrance (George Street) will open one hour prior to tip-ofF (subject to change) 
  • Almost all tickets will be mobile. Fans should download tickets to their mobile devices prior to arriving on campus
  • Clear Bag Policy will be in effect
Be advised that all persons, upon entering property/arena, consent to a search of their person and property at the time of entry and during their stay on the premises. TD Arena has a no-re-entry policy; tickets can only be scanned for use once.

GUEST SERVICES 

For any guest service needs, please visit the Guest Services table near the Loge Boxes on the 100-level concourse at TD Arena. 

GUIDE DOGS/SERVICE ANIMALS 

Trained guide dogs and service dogs are permitted/allowed to assist guests inside the arena. All other animals are prohibited. Please notify the arena at the time of ticket purchase if special accommodations are required for the service animal. 

HANDICAP PARKING
For Men’s Basketball games, a drop-off lane is provided for your convenience in the right-hand lane traveling along Meeting Street next to TD Arena. The City of Charleston allows free parking for people with disabilities who have state-issued identification (either a placard or a handicap license plate) in metered or timed parking spaces. This includes Parking Meters, Garages, and Lots and only applies to City, County, and State-owned facilities. There are several garages and lots that are privately owned, and they do not offer free parking for people with disabilities. When parking at a metered space please be sure your placard is visible. It should either hang from the rear view mirror or be placed on the dashboard. When leaving a garage to receive free parking, you will be asked to show your disabled placard or identification. Charleston accepts disabled placards from other states. A disabled veteran license plate also qualifies for free parking. Please be aware that handicap placards or license plates do not allow parking in Commercial Loading Zones. For a list of city parking facilities or  more information click HERE.
 

HANDICAP SEATING 

Handicap accessible seating is available at various locations throughout TD Arena. On the seating charts, they are labeled handicap reserve and are located in our box seating along the concourse of TD Arena. Handicap seating is available to the patron with the disability and one guest. Handicap accessible seating is sold on a first-come, first-serve basis by visiting www.CofCSports.com/tickets or calling 843-953-COFC (2632) Monday - Friday 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. 

LOST AND FOUND 

Any items that have been lost or found should be reported to the Guest Services tables throughout the 100-level concourse. All lost and found items after the completion of a game at TD Arena will be given to the College of Charleston Department of Public Safety. Patrons may contact the CofC Department of Public Safety at 843-953-5609 during normal business hours to inquire about lost and found items.

LOST PATRONS 

Lost patrons and persons looking for lost patrons should proceed immediately to a Guest Services Table located on the main 100-level concourse or notify the nearest event staff security or a law enforcement officer. All guests should keep their game tickets with them, as this can help reunite parents or guardians.

MEN’S BASKETBALL SEATING 

All seating during Men’s games is assigned and designated with a section, row, and seat number on the ticket. Fans must remain in their designated seat numbers. 

MERCHANDISE 

The Cougar Spirit Shop offers various CofC athletic apparel and is located on the concourse between Sections 115 and 110. The store opens 60 minutes prior to tip-off and closes at the end of the game. (subject to change

PARKING 

With a high level of interest and excitement surrounding both the College of Charleston men's and women's basketball programs, fans attending a Cougar basketball game should plan accordingly to ensure you do not miss any of the action: 

1. Fans are encouraged to arrive at least one hour prior to tip-off in anticipation of traffic congestion around the arena and longer lines at both the ticket windows and scanning lines. 

2. There is no designated general parking area for games at TD Arena. There are various parking garages and paid lots in the vicinity of TD Arena that all spectators can utilize. 

3. Season Ticket Holders will be allowed to purchase parking in the following lots:

  • St. Philip Street Garage 
  • College of Charleston GY Lot 
  • First National Bank 
  • Citadel Square Church (Henrietta) 
  • Citadel Square Church (Calhoun) 
  • Emanuel AME Church 
  • College of Charleston W Lot 
  • 292 Meeting Street 
  • United Bank (Upper) 
  • Spoleto (Formerly known as Meeting/George Street) 

4. Please reach out to the Charleston Athletic Fund to reserve your season parking pass today!

POLITICAL MATERIALS & SOLICITATIONS 

Distribution of political stickers, brochures, promotional items, or other solicitations is strictly forbidden on properties owned or being leased by the College of Charleston, including TD Arena. 

PROHIBITED ITEMS 

In addition to the below, all items are subject to the judgement of game management staff and may be removed from TD Arena based upon safety to surrounding guests, as well as the ability of other to enjoy the event. Prohibited items include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Aerosol and Spray Cans 
  • Alcoholic Beverages 
  • All bags and purses that do not meet the approved guidelines 
  • Animals (except service animals) 
  • Containers of any kind 
  • Coolers, thermoses, cups, bottles, cans, flasks, etc. (Exception: 1 Sealed Bottle of Water) 
  • Drones 
  • Flags and Flagpoles, unauthorized banners or posters 
  • Fireworks/Explosives 
  • Food & Beverages of any kind 
  • Illegal Drugs 
  • Inflatables (beach balls, etc.) 
  • Irritants such as artificial noisemakers 
  • Laser lights, strobe lights, and pointers 
  • Mace/Pepper Spray 
  • Masks of any kind
  • Non-approved seat cushions, which include large, traditional seat cushions that have pockets, zippers, compartments or covers 
  • Objects that may impede on the comfort & safety of others – portable heaters, mini-fans, etc. 
  • Purses larger than a clutch bag (4.5” x 6.5”), briefcases, backpacks, and cinch/drawstring bags of any kind, fanny packs, luggage of any kind, computer bags/cases, camera bags/cases, binocular bags/cases or any bag larger than the permissible size (12” x 6” x 12”) 
  • Strollers 
  • Video cameras, tripods, recording devices, detachable camera lenses over 6”, selfie sticks =
  • Weapons/Concealed Weapons 

RESTROOMS 

Arena restrooms are located throughout the main arena concourse for your convenience. 

Four Family restrooms are also located along the 100-level concourse. Each Family Restroom has a changing table or an expanded counter top for use as well. For questions related to TD Arena Family restrooms, contact the staff at the Guest Services table located on the concourse. 

SECURITY 

The College of Charleston makes every attempt to ensure that all fans are able to enjoy attending the game & any festivities surround the game. In the unfortunate event that threatening or illegal behavior is observed, guests are asked to contact uniformed security located throughout the arena or tweet directly @CofC_GameDayOps. If you see something, say something!

Public Safety officers and event security are stationed throughout the arena & in surrounding game day facilities and parking areas. Gameday law enforcement personnel are coordinated by The College of Charleston Department of Public Safety and can be contacted at 843-953-5609.

TICKET INFORMATION 

To offer a greater convenience and safety, mobile-only ticketing will be utilized to help expedite entry. To ensure the best possible game day experience, fans should download their tickets prior to arrival and enter through the appropriate entrance. Please review the (Digital Ticketing Guide) for a step-by-step guide to access & manage mobile tickets. Student ticketing details are sent directly to all eligible students.

Duplicate Tickets: 

  • The College of Charleston Athletic Ticket Office will accept duplicate requests solely from the ticket holders on record or the name the account is under. There are no exceptions to this policy and all requests are granted at the discretion of the College of Charleston Athletic Ticket Office. Duplicate tickets are available to pick up at will call on the day of the game only. 

Purchasing Tickets 

  • Online: Purchase Tickets online at cofcsports.com/tickets. Online sales stop 2 hours prior to game time. 
  • Walk-up: Purchase Tickets at the College of Charleston Athletic Ticket Office at TD Arena during regular office hours. Regular office hours are 9AM to 5PM. 
  • Telephone: Purchase tickets by telephone (843-953-COFC) through the College of Charleston Athletic Ticket Office. 


College of Charleston Student Tickets: 

Student Entrance

  • Men’s Basketball: All full-time students at The College receive free entry to men’s basketball games (and all other sports) as space allows. The only requirement for entry is a valid College of Charleston student ID (and at security request, a matching driver’s license/identification card). Students should access their Student ID on their phone at myqr.cofc.edu.
  • Students will enter the arena through the George Street student entrance – the alleyway across from the George Street surface parking lot. Entry will begin 60 minutes prior to tipoff for Men’s Basketball games. (subject to change) 

Ticket Office Policies 

  • Tickets cannot be held without payment. 
  • The ticket office is in the main lobby of TD Arena. Tickets cannot be resold inside or outside of TD Arena. 
  • Children that are 3 and under and will not take up a seat do not need a ticket. 

TOBACCO/SMOKING POLICY 

The College of Charleston Tobacco-Free Campus Policy went into effect on July 1, 2014 meaning that the College of Charleston is now a healthy, tobacco free environment. This policy stipulates that no use of tobacco is allowed on any campus property and that covers all forms of tobacco, including smokeless (chew or dip). E-Cigarettes are also prohibited and subject to the same rules as tobacco products. We request and appreciate your adherence and compliance with this College of Charleston policy. Violators are subject to potential ejection. 

TRASH REMOVAL/RECYCLING 

The College of Charleston conveniently has installed brand new trash cans throughout the arena which allow for the disposal of trash and recyclables. Please help us keep TD Arena pristine & enjoyable by disposing all bagged trash into these receptacles. Fans are encouraged to also place appropriate recycling items in their respective compartments.

VENDORS 

Soliciting or vending of any good or services is strictly prohibited throughout TD Arena and the surrounding areas owned or leased by the College of Charleston. Distribution of political stickers, brochures, promotional items, or other solicitations is strictly forbidden on properties owned or lease by The College of Charleston.

WOMEN’S BASKETBALL SEATING 

Seating during women’s basketball games is filled on a first-come, first-served basis. No tickets are sold to home CofC Women’s Basketball games.
