“Willis brings leadership and experience. He is a special kid in the sense that he really takes to coaching. He is multi-skilled and is very tough and passionate. Willis understands what it takes to be a winner and is a winner in pretty much every phase of his life. REDSHIRT JUNIOR (2012-13)
Played in 34 games of the season with 30 starts…Averaged 7.7 points per game and was second on the team in rebounding (6.4 rpg)…Shot a team-best 86.2 percent from the free throw line (50-of-58)…Scored six consecutive points to break the final tie and lead the Cougars to a 63-59 road upset at No. 21-ranked Baylor (11/24/12)…Finished with 12 points including 8-of-10 free throws, the last with 2.4 seconds left after grabbing a key rebound off consecutive missed shots by Baylor…Also turned in three double-double performances during the season including 19 points and 12 rebounds at Elon (12/1/12), 14 points and 10 rebounds at Marist (12/31/12) and 16 points and 10 rebounds versus Elon in the SoCon Tournament Semifinals (3/10/13)…Made a career-best three blocked shots at Marist…Broke his right foot in practice and missed the team’s postseason game against George Mason in the CBI (3/19/13).
 
JUNIOR (2011-12)
Medical redshirt season…Suffered a season-ending ACL injury to his left knee in preseason workouts.
 
SOPHOMORE (2010-11)
One of three players to start and play in all 37 games of the season…Tied for third on the team in scoring (8.4 ppg) and third in rebounding (5.9 rpg)…Recorded four 20-point outings including a career-high 22 points in ESPN BracketBusters game versus Vermont (2/19/11)…Dished out a career-best five assists at Appalachian State (2/24/11)…Scored in double figures 13 times and brought down double-digit boards twice…Turned in his second career double-double with 21 points and a career-high 18 rebounds at Western Carolina (2/26/11)…Made eight dunks.
 
FRESHMAN (2009-10)
Selected to the 2009-10 Southern Conference All-Freshman Team by the league’s head coaches and media…Played in all 34 games of the season with seven starts averaging 5.5 points and 3.4 rebounds per game…Ranked second on the team in field-goal percentage with a 51.3 percent (80-of-156) accuracy from the floor behind Jeremy Simmons (59.7)…Recorded a double-double in his collegiate debut with 10 points and a career-high 11 boards at Coastal Carolina (11/13/09)...Also made his first career start against the Chanticleers…Came off the bench and scored 10 points and grabbed six boards versus Winthrop (11/17/09)...Had five points and six boards at Tennessee (11/27/09)...Registered six points and five rebounds at Clemson (12/19/09)...Led all CofC scorers with 16 points and made a career-high two blocked shots against Wofford (1/22/10)...Shot a career-best 89 percent from the floor (8-of-9) and turned in a career-high 18 points at Georgia Southern (1/30/10).
