Personal
• Born on September 30, 1992.
• Daughter of Mike and Dorothy Johnson.
• Undecided major at College of Charleston.
• Her athletic goal at CofC is to be the best skipper she can be and to help the team succeed while still maintaining good grades.
• Works as a sailing instructor at the Surf City Yacht Club and as a shoe consultant at Deerskin Moccasin during the summer months.
• Her hobbies include wakeboarding, water skiing, hula hooping and yoga.
• Her biggest influence in life is her family, namely her older sister, Amanda, who has given her many pointers about how to become more successful as a college sailor and athlete. Her younger brother, Clayton, always keeps her laughing and still manages to provide her with great advice even though he is seven years younger and her mom and dad for doing a good job of keeping her well fed and emotionally balanced.
• Chose CofC because she wanted to venture out of the North and experience a new culture down in the South as well as escape the cold weather. The College was also located in a great location and the campus size was perfect providing her with an abundance of diverse classes and a variety of majors to choose from. The great sailing program and the coaches and their knowledge and expertise were also a big factor in her decision. She came to the conclusion that The College of Charleston was the healthiest option for her to be able to succeed.
