Annabel Carrington (CofC '19) returned to her alma mater in January of 2023 as a Dinghy Team Assistant Coach for College of Charleston sailing.
Carrington returns to Charleston after serving as a sailing instructor at Sail Nauticus in Norfolk, Va. in the fall of 2022. Prior to that she was an English teacher and yearbook advisor at Nansemond River High School in Suffolk, Va. for three years (2020 through 2022).
Carrington also has experience as a race coach at Nantucket Community Sailing as well as a sailing coach for the Chicago Yacht Club.
During her time as an undergraduate student-athlete at the College, Carrington was a two-time National Champion helping the Cougars bring home a Team Race National Title in 2017 then a Coed Fleet Race National Title in 2019. She was also named an All-American Crew member for her efforts as a senior as well as an All-American Honorable Mention her 2018 junior season.
Charleston also won back-to-back Fowle Trophies in 2017 and 2018 as the top college sailing team in the nation during Carrington's time on the roster. She also helped lead the Cougars to second-place finishes in the 2018 Women's Fleet and Coed Fleet National Championships as well as a fifth-place finish in the 2019 Team Race Nationals.
Carrington graduated Magna Cum Laude from Charleston in 2019 with a Bachelor of Arts in English and Secondary Education with a minor in Studio Art.
