Corbin Sebens

Corbin Sebens enters his second year as an assistant coach with Charleston men's golf in 2025-2026.

During his first season with the program, he helped guide the Cougars to a No. 62 ranking and  back-to-back regional appearances for the first time since 2021 and 2022

Sebens spent eleven seasons as the head coach at NJCAA Parkland, taking the Cobras to seven straight top six finishes at the NJCAA DII National Championship, including a National Championship title in 2021. Cobras Golf has become a perennial contender at the NJCAA DII national level as it also continues to dominate the Mid-West Athletic Conference, having won the last seven conference titles.

Taking over in the spring of 2014, Sebens has guided Parkland to the NJCAA Championships in eight of his eleven seasons in charge, earning five top five finishes the past six years, with the program's first National Championship in 2021. Under his leadership, the program has won nine M-WAC titles and has an overall record of 978-172. Individually, Sebens has coached sixteen NJCAA All-Americans, fifteen Ping All-Americans, ten M-WAC medalists, 37 M-WAC All-Conference honorees, 32 Region-24 honorees, and 26 GCAA All-Region team honorees. Overall, Sebens' teams have collected 51 tournament wins and 66 top three finishes.

Along the way, Sebens has also picked up several coaching accolades following his team’s successes. The Golf Coaches Association of America named him the 2021 Dave Williams National Coach of the Year (NJCAA/DII) along with East Region Coach of the Year, and he was also the Coach of the Tournament for the 2021 National Championship. He is a 5-time winner of the GCAA Central/East Region Coach of the Year Award and has been named MWAC Coach of Year nine times and Region 24 Coach of the Year six times.

Off the golf course, Sebens' athletes have also shown excellence in the classroom as the Cobras were named NJCAA Academic Team of the Year in both 2017 and 2019.

A graduate of Parkland College, Sebens was an NJCAA All-American and a 2-time All-MWAC selection. He was also a member of the 2009 Cobras team that placed eighth at the NJCAA Championships. Following his two seasons at Parkland, Sebens went on to play two more years at Eastern Illinois where he earned his bachelor’s degree in Kinesiology and Sport Studies. As a member of the Panthers golf team, he was named to the Ohio Valley Conference Commissioner’s Honor Roll and earned Scholar Athlete recognition.

Professionally, Sebens has routinely qualified for tournaments within the state of Illinois, including the CDGA Amateur 4 Ball, Illinois State Amateur, CDGA Mid-Amateur, Illinois Open and the Illinois State Mid-Am Championship. In 2018, Sebens finished among the top 10 at the Illinois State Mid-Am Championship.

Hailing from Monticello, Illinois, Sebens played both golf and basketball at Monticello High School. He contributed to four straight conference titles in golf and a regional title as a junior, and he was a News-Gazette All-Area First Team selection his senior year. On the basketball court, Sebens led Monticello to two regional and one sectional title and ranks second, all-time, in both single-season and career three-pointers. As a senior, Sebens also set the Monticello single-season free-throw percentage record. In the fall of 2021, Sebens was inducted into the Monticello High School Sports Hall of Fame for his success both athletically in high school and professionally as one the premier college golf coaches in Illinois.
