College of Charleston men’s soccer head coach Keith Wiggans has announced the addition of Ernesto Aguinaga-Hernandez to the program in July of 2025.
“I am very excited to have Ernesto join our program,” says Wiggans. “Through the whole interview process, he has continued to impress me. His knowledge about the game and ability to clearly communicate his ideas are not commonly found in young coaches.”
Aguinaga-Hernandez joins the College from University of Wisconsin-Parkside, serving as a volunteer assistant coach for four seasons for the men’s and women’s soccer programs. During his time in Wisconsin, he oversaw the goalkeepers, assisting the team to two Conference Championships, three NCAA Division II tournaments and the Division II CCAC Midwest Goalkeeper of the Year.
Prior to his coaching career, Aguinaga-Hernandez was a member of the 2016 Dominican University Men’s Soccer team and a trialist for Club Leon FC.
“He will do a great job growing our goalkeeper union and recruiting top talent for our program. Ernie is a great person and I am eager to have him join our staff. He will be a great addition!”
