Kip Vogel joined the College of Charleston Athletics department in December 2023.
Vogel oversees day-to-day functions for all Division I NCAA programs, managing more than 320 events annually at TD Arena and Patriots Point. His responsibilities includes facility scheduling, internal camps, credentialing operations, full and part-time staff management, and leveraging external rentals to drive department revenue.
Driven by a philosophy of continuous improvement, Vogel has streamlined internal processes and directed over $200,000 in facility improvement projects during his tenure in Charleston. Notably, he assisted with major capital enhancements to install new LED lighting at both TD Arena and the Patriots Point baseball stadium.
Prior to Charleston, Vogel spent seven years at the University of South Carolina, progressing from intern (2017) and graduate assistant (2018) to Event Operations Manager (2019) and Assistant Director (2021). At South Carolina, he provided direct event oversight for ten varsity sports, assisted with football, baseball, and basketball, and managed department-wide credentialing. A veteran of postseason logistics, he hosted over 20 NCAA and SEC championship events, highlighted by the 2023 SEC Cross Country Championship and multiple NCAA Women’s Basketball First & Second Rounds.
The Southern Maryland native earned his bachelor’s and master’s degrees in Sport and Entertainment Management from South Carolina (2017, 2019). Vogel, his wife, Erica, and their son, Parker, reside in Goose Creek.
