Maxwell Giddens enters his first season as an assistant coach for Charleston men's and women's tennis in 2025.
Giddens joins the Cougars after serving a year as an assistant coach at his alma mater Samford. He helped lead the Bulldogs to a SoCon regular season and tournament championship, earning the program's first NCAA berth since 2013.
"I am excited to be in Charleston and a part of these amazing programs," said Giddens. "Angelo and Jay are great coaches, but more importantly first-class people. I am looking forward to joining what they've built and work towards the best that's yet to come."
A 2024 graduate of Samford, Giddens earned All-SoCon First Team singles and doubles honors during his junior and senior seasons with 18 singles wins and 28 doubles wins. Prior to his time at Samford, Giddens spent two seasons playing for the Auburn Tigers where he collected 12 singles wins and 24 doubles wins.
"We are excited to have Max on staff. His tennis attributes will complement our team," said Anastopoulo. "He's a tremendous player and his coaching skills will be such an asset to our players."
