Wibbenmeyer has served as the Assistant Director of Sports Performance since summer 2021.
He directly trains the baseball, men’s soccer, and men’s & women’s tennis teams. He has previously worked with the track & field and cross country programs. In his time with the Cougar baseball program, he has helped the program to two conference regular season titles.
Wibbenmeyer came to Charleston from Clemson, where he served as a Graduate Assistant from Fall 2019- Spring 2021 while working toward his master’s degree. During that time, he was the head strength coach for the women’s rowing team, and assisted with baseball, men’s soccer, women’s soccer, softball, track & field, and volleyball teams. Before his graduate position,
Wibbenmeyer served as an intern with the strength and conditioning staff for a year.
A St Louis, Missouri native, Tyler played football at Southern Illinois University of Carbondale, where he received his undergraduate degree.
Wibbenmeyer is a Certified Strength & Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) through the NSCA and is also first aid/AED certified.
